Coronavirus update – Electronic PODs and Customers Own Paperwork
Dear Customer
In view of recent Government Guidelines and for the safety and wellbeing of our staff and your customers we have now changed our procedures of signing goods at all delivery points.
Therefore with immediate effect please be aware that all drivers have been given new instructions that they can no longer pass their PDA device for the recipient to sign themselves, instead they will ask for the full name of the person receiving the goods and will enter these details on behalf of your customer. Obviously, drivers will not be able to sign these, so we have instructed them to enter C-19 in the signatory box.
Also, for customers requiring their own paperwork signing this service has been suspended until further notice.
If there should ever be an occasion that the PDA is not working, our drivers will follow the same procedure but write in the receiver’s full name on their load manifest against the relevant job so we should never be in a position of not obtaining proof of delivery.
If any delivery point refuses to follow these procedures, our drivers have been instructed to call their traffic offices who will in turn inform you, if you are happy for us to leave your goods without a signature we would need this clarifying in writing that Freightroute will not be held accountable for any losses whatsoever.
We trust you will all understand our reasons for having to take these actions and our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Assuring you of our best intentions as all times.
Directors
