MAJOR FIRE IMPACTS OUR NORTH WEST DEPOT

Yesterday afternoon there was a major fire close to our depot at Sankey Valley Industrial Estate, Newton le Willows that resulted to the access to the depot being closed. This closure has continued throughout the night and we await an update on the situation this morning. Some of the fleet that returned to the depot with earlier collections were trapped on site, whilst the other 15 vehicles still out on the road were prevented from returning to the depot. We very quickly put a contingency plan in to place and our teams worked well to process as much of our North West depot’s customer traffic in to the network. It was not possible to process every pallet and sadly some service disruption was inevitable and we will advise customers throughout this morning on consignments that have been effected.

The deliveries from the rest of the companies customers for the North West were routed to our Bradford depot and loaded on the North West fleet from there, some timed and AM services in to the region will be disrupted.

We apologise for any disruption in service and thank you for your patience whilst we work through a situation that was outside our control.

We remain in contact with the authorities and will post further updates as and when information becomes available

  • Coronavirus update - 26th March 2020

We thought we would like to take the opportunity to update our customers on our operation at the moment.

Whilst we have seen volume drop from our non-essential customer base some of this lost volume has been replaced with an increase from our customer base with essential supplies.

We remain committed to delivering our customers goods and playing our part, just like yourselves, in keeping the country’s supply chain going in these unprecedented times. All additional services, AM, Timed, PM, currently remain in place and will continue to do so for as long as possible.

We have 40 members of staff (10%) currently self-isolating for different reasons and any staff members that can carry out their duties from home are doing so. It may take a little longer sometimes for our staff to answer the phone and hope you can bear with us on this.

We are urgently looking for supplies of hand sanitizer/wipes and face masks, if any of our customers can assist with this please contact your local depot. We want to keep our essential staff as safe as possible as they carry out their duties, any help in this would be very much appreciated

We remain positive and working together we can get through this situation, we hope you keep safe and stay well
